Parnham Voices is a small chamber choir formed in 2002, the singers coming from a wide area centred on Beaminster, Dorset. We sing all types of music for unaccompanied voices - medieval to modern, sacred and secular - including masses and motets, anthems and folk songs, Victorian pieces and evergreens from the 20's and 30's. This yearwe have introduced several new pieces to our repertoire, including Shenandoah, Dashing away with the smoothing iron and Gorecki's Totus tuus which was written for Pope John Paul II's third pilgramage to his homeland in 1987.

In the spring we sang at St Michael's, Lyme Regis to celebrate the new organ there, then made a return visit to Frome St Quinton on the afternoon of April 25th, and on 8th May sang in a joint concert with the Ridgeway Chorale from Tring in aid of Julia's House Hospice, our favourite local charity. To end our spring/summer season, on June 5th we visited Chideock for a concert in the Church of Our Lady, Queen of Martyrs, and St. Ignatius - read a review here - and on Saturday 4th September embarked on our annual Singing Safari to the Marshwood Vale.

Our autumn 2010 season begins with a concert at St Mary's Church, Thorncombe, on Saturday 16th October.

John Mingay our Musical Director since our first public performances in 2002, is leaving us to pursue other interests and so we are actively recruiting a replacement.
