Our 2004 Christmas Concert on 11th December was very well supported by an enthusiastic audience who joined the choir with gusto in the Hallelujah chorus from Handel's Messiah and, after interval drinks, with traditional carols including I saw three ships and Good King Wenceslas.

The concert was performed in aid of The Joseph Weld & Trimar Hospice and CancerCare Dorset, which is a newly merged charity offering specialist care and support to patients in west, south and north Dorset.

Programme:

Frohlocket, ihr Völker auf Erden - F. Mendelssohn
Resonet in laudibus - J. Handl

Christmas Oratorio - J.S. Bach
Part I
Christians be joyful
Ah! Dearest Jesus
Recit. And there were shepherds
And the angel said to them
Break forth, O beauteous heavenly light

Part II
Hear King of angels
Recit. And when the angels were gone
Let us even now go to Bethlehem
Recit. And the shepherds returned
Rejoice and sing
Hear King of angels

Messiah - G.F. Handel
Recit. Comfort ye my people
Every valley shall be exalted
And the glory of the Lord
Recit. Behold, a virgin shall conceive
O thou that tellest good tidings to Zion
For unto us a child is born
Recits. There were shepherds abiding in the field.
And lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them.
And the angel said unto them.
And suddenly there was with the angel.

Glory to God
Recit. Then shall the eyes of the blind be opened
He shall feed his flock like a shepherd
Hallelujah!
