Colin
Varndell is a wildlife photographer and writer. His photographs
are regularly used in books, magazines, calendars, postcards, conservation
journals, leaflets and exhibitions. He is author of "Wildlife in
the West Country" and writes features on both nature and photography
topics for a variety of national and regional magazines.
Colin's
work includes photographs for "Living Britain",
a BBC book accompanying the television series in which his
garden is featured, and a "highly commended" award for
a photograph of early purple orchids in the 16th BG Wildlife Photographer
of the year competition, sponsored jointly by the Natural History
Museum and the BBC Wildlife Magazine.
Colin's collection of
natural history photographs are available as colour transparencies
for reproduction in publishing and advertising markets. Commissions
are also accepted for features, books, media and conservation publications.
The collection covers
all aspects of British natural history with a special emphasis on
woodland, field and garden wildlife. Subjects covered include: birds,
mammals, reptiles, amphibians, invertebrates, insects (especially
dragonflies and butterflies), wild flowers, trees, fungi, mosses
and lichens, abstract, habitats, landscapes and the weather. A comprehensive
